The Foundation is constantly renewing, updating and maintaining the necessary medical equipment to perform diagnostic tests that confirm the various eye diseases, including:

OCULAR ECHOGRAPHY:

Is a test done with ultrasound to observe the eye area in order to measure its size and structure. Ultrasound examines the far side of the globe when we have to diagnose cataracts and retinal detachment or other eye conditions.

BIOMETRICS:

Is a simple test that can calculates without touching the cornea, the power of intraocular lenses in cataract surgery. Requires only as anesthetic drops.

PACHYMETRY:

Is a test that measures the thickness of the cornea by ultrasound or images Scheimplug (PENTACAM). It is used as evidence in preoperative and intraoperative Excimer laser refractive surgery.

PENTACAM:

Computerized diagnostic imaging of the anterior segment of the eye. Provides precise information for the evaluation for LASIK treatments, and phakic lenses Ferrara Rings, for correction of visual defects and for the diagnosis of diseases, especially: corneal lesions, cataract and glaucoma. The test is very fast and does not require contact with the eye.

DIGITAL ANGIOGRAPHY:

Involves taking a series of photographs of the retina, in order to analyze their irrigation, by passage of a dye injected into a vein (fluorescein or indocyanine green).

CORNEAL TOPOGRAPHY:

Is the study of the anterior and posterior of the cornea. It is very important because it allows to evaluate the attitude of the cornea in front of the surgery and to rule out disorders that could contraindicate surgery.

COMPUTERIZED PERIMETRY:

The aim of this review is to assess the sensitivity of optic nerve fibers in all regions of the visual field, detecting defects, depending on their shape and location to locate important information injury life optics, It allows for a correct diagnosis.

OCT (OPTICAL COHERENCE TOMOGRAPHY):

Scan is a technique that applies modern ophthalmology to study “live” the previous segment, the optic disc in glaucoma, retina and macula specifically. The topographical images obtained allow a diagnosis of pathologies ophthalmoscopically difficult to identify, but also has the ability to scan the same area of the retina at different times enabling monitoring.

ENDOTHELIAL COUNT (SPECULAR MICROSCOPE):

To diagnose corneal diseases and gives a prognosis of postoperative cataract surgery considering it is a noninvasive method that facilitates observation at high magnification of the corneal endothelium in vivo.

PROCEDURES

The procedures performed in addition to treatments and surgical plans

YAG LASER:

This laser is used after cataract surgery when opaque posterior lens capsule, for iridectomies (small hole in the iris), in acute glaucoma and cutting membranes by scarring of the anterior chamber of the eye.

LASER PHOTOCOGULATION:

The laser procedure is a technique that is used to seal the tears or holes in the retina that usually precede detachment.

CRYOTHERAPY:

The application of extreme cold leads to scar formation that holds the retina in the underlying layer.

ENDOLASER:

Laser surgery is a technique that is used to seal the tears or holes in the retina that usually precede detachment, but applies when performed intraoperatively Retina and Vitreous Surgery.
